Privacy Information for Cleansh
Last updated: July 13, 2025
At Cleansh Technologies LLC, our commitment to your privacy is simple and straightforward: `cleansh` does not collect any of your personal data.
Our Approach to Your Privacy
`cleansh` is designed as a local-first, stateless command-line utility. This means it processes data entirely on your local machine and has no built-in mechanisms to send information externally. We believe in providing powerful tools that respect your privacy by design.
- No Data Collection: `cleansh` does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, usage data, or telemetry from your device.
- No Network Connections: The `cleansh` application does not initiate any outbound network connections for data collection purposes.
- No Tracking: We do not use cookies, web beacons, or any other tracking technologies within the `cleansh` application.
- Local Processing Only: All operations performed by `cleansh` occur locally on your computer. Your input and sanitized output remain entirely under your control.
Dependencies and External Interactions
While `cleansh` is built not to collect data, like most software, it operates within an environment and relies on various underlying components and libraries to function. It's important to understand the scope of `cleansh`'s control:
- Operating System and Environment: `cleansh` runs within your operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux), which is outside of our control. Your operating system, shell, or other software installed on your machine may collect data or interact with the network independently of `cleansh`. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of your operating system and other installed software.
- Internal Dependencies (Rust Crates): `cleansh` is developed using Rust and utilizes various open-source libraries (crates) for specific functionalities. We carefully select and review these dependencies to ensure they align with our privacy principles and do not introduce network-based data collection. However, the behavior of these third-party libraries is governed by their respective licenses and maintainers, and while we aim to choose privacy-respecting ones, we do not control their inherent functionality. We encourage users to inspect the `Cargo.toml` file in the source code for a full list of dependencies if they have concerns.
- User Responsibility: Any data that `cleansh` processes (e.g., shell output piped into it, or data from files you direct it to read) is data that you provide and control. `cleansh`'s sole purpose is to sanitize this data and return it to you; it does not retain, log, or transmit it.
AI-Assisted Codebase (Full Transparency)
The codebase of `cleansh` was developed in close collaboration with AI. We believe in full transparency regarding this process and want to assure our users of the integrity and quality of the software.
- All code was generated under direct supervision and review by the project maintainer, who remains responsible for the logic, architecture, and decisions behind every component.
- Every generated segment was manually validated, tested, and iterated on to ensure correctness, security, and maintainability.
- `cleansh` is not a copy-paste artifact — it is an intentionally built CLI tool with test coverage, clear design principles, and continuous refinement.
- We believe that AI is a tool — not a substitute for ownership — and we stand by the quality and originality of the final product.
Website Privacy (cleansh.netlify.app)
While the `cleansh` tool itself does not collect data, the website hosting its documentation (cleansh.netlify.app) may implicitly collect certain non-identifiable usage data through standard web hosting practices (e.g., server logs, traffic analytics provided by Netlify). This data is typically aggregated and used for operational purposes like understanding website traffic patterns and ensuring service availability. We do not use this information to identify individual users.
For details on how Netlify handles data, please refer to their privacy policy.
Changes to this Privacy Information

We will notify You of any significant changes by posting the updated information on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will indicate when the latest revisions were made.
